Green Group – Afternoon Session

Welcome to Green Group

Our Green Group is taught by Mrs Reames on an afternoon.

The children start the session in their group room. During this session, key workers will explain what is new in the Nursery to look out for, informing the children of focus activities that will be carried out that day. There will be number activities, name recognition activities, singing and some phonics work taking place within this session. At 2.00pm, we have snack in our groups. The children help to prepare the snacks and give out the snack and drinks. It is very much a social gathering where good manners are encouraged and the children are encouraged to try different foods. We end our session each day with a story or music session in our group. In this session, the children are encouraged to listen carefully, join in with parts of the story and answer questions about the story. It is a lovely, calming way to end the session.

Parents are asked to take the children right into the Green Room when bringing the children to Nursery. This way, we know they have arrived and are safe with their key workers during the busy dropping off time. At the end of the day, we ask parents to wait in the porch area until the children are ready then we ask you to collect your child from the Red Room too. Once your child has been handed over to you, it is then your responsibility to ensure their safety whilst the door is open at the busy collection time.
